Angus K. Kennedy
Angus is an associate in the San Diego-San Marcos office with over 18 years of experience in the insurance and structured settlement fields. His areas of specialty include complex workers' compensation cases involving Medicare approval, high exposure public entity cases, and cat
astrophic injury claims.
His responsibilities include attending settlement conferences, mediations, arbitrations, workers' compensation hearings, and other disposition hearings designed to resolve cases. In addition, he designs and presents settlement annuity plans, performs file reviews, and interfaces with clients, the court and attorneys.
As a member of the National Structured Settlements Trade Association (NSSTA), Angus has addressed numueous Insurance Education Association classes, as well as conducted continued education presentations for numerous law firm and the State Bar Association on the uses of settlement annuities.
Prior to joining Ringler Associates, Angus was a Senior Technical Specialist with Travelers Insurance Company in Riverside, California, where he was responsible for complex coverage issues and large bodily injury cases. In addition, he worked closely with the strategic claims unit. He was also associated with the company's in-house structured settlement department. Before that he was a Litigation Consultant for commercial and personal lines with Aetna Property Casualty Corporation. There, he researched, developed and implemented a bodily injury evaluation system and trained users. He also participated in the company's in-house settlement annuity program, and he handled complex coverage issues and large litigated personal injury claims. In addition, he spent six years with the Insurance Company of the West as a Senior Commercial/Personal Lines Claim Representative, handling premise, product, auto, extra contractual, construction defect and municipal liability claims.
Angus received a bachelor of arts degree from Point Loma University in San Diego in 1987. He also attended the University of Rhode Island in Kingston where he majored in accounting.
